The modern era presents challenges to students unlike those seen in generations past. Before, education focused largely on memorization and the compartmentalization of information. With the invention of the internet, and the ability for information to be accessed at a moment’s whim, this method of education has begun to be phased out. In its place is an educational paradigm focused on rapid pattern identification, critical thinking, and finding creative solutions to complex problems. Some teachers have had difficulty adapting to this rapid change. However, my unique experience as both a student and a teacher in this modern age allows me to integrate the elements of this new educational paradigm into my instruction, bolstering you or your student’s success both inside and outside of the classroom.
